SHIP HULL VIBRATIONS- 2: THE DISTRIBUTION OF EXCITING FORCES GENERATED BY PROPELLERS

Abstract

A study of the forces acting on a hull as a consequence of the propeller action. Develops calculation forms for computing the dynamic forces and moments generated by a propeller operating in a variable wake. Describes a program for computing the shaft-bearing reactions resulting from these propeller forces. Presents a method of computing hull pressure forces resulting from the propeller pressure field. The various procedures are illustrated by numerical examples.
