ALTERNATIVE TECHNIQUES FOR THE INVARIANT IMBEDDING OF RAREFIED COUETTE FLOWS

Abstract

The Memorandum re-examines the application of invariance techniques to plane Couette-flow problems and presents several different approaches to the derivation of the invariant-imbedding equations. It is shown how both linear and nonlinear collision operators may be considered, for both discrete and continuous versions of the original Boltzmann formulation.
