CHANNELIZED TEST TRACKS, SHARONVILLE, OHIO. REPORT OF CONSTRUCTION

Abstract

The need for verification of criteria for the design of airfield pavements subjected to channelized traffic resulted in the construction of two test tracks at Sharonville, Ohio during the winter of 1955-1956. Part 1 is a Test Track, 25-feet wide and 605-feet long, built on a low bearing value subgrade and consists of three plain concrete Items and six reinforced concrete Items for test. Part 2 is a Test Track 25feet wide and 545-feet long, built on a high bearing value subgrade and contains three plain concrete items and five reinforced concrete Items for test.
