THE EVOLUTION OF STRATUS CLOUDS IN THE SURFACE BOUNDARY LAYER OF THE ATMOSPHERE

Abstract

The evolution of stratus clouds, whose base is in the surface boundary layer of the atmosphere, is investigated. Formulas are derived that describe the displacement of the base of stratus clouds during a brief time interval (t less than or equal to 10 to 20 min).
