COMPARISON OF SEVERAL NONPARAMETRIC ESTIMATORS OF THE FAILURE RATE FUNCTION

Abstract

Several nonparametric estimators of the failure rate function, assuming that the true unknown failure rate is increasing, are proposed and their asymptotic properties compared. Finite sample comparisons are made using Monte Carlo methods.
