FORTIFICATION OF FIRE POSITIONS

Abstract

This booklet, designed for sergeants and junior officers, describes the construction of the basic open defensive structures for infantry tanks, artillery and other combat materiel and motor transport. The disposition of these structures in the terrain and the utilization of its protective features are outlined. Both mechanical and manual methods of excavation are given, and numerous diagrams of the fortifications, with dimensions, are included. Camouflage procedures for all types of structures are fully described.
