INFLUENCE OF THE POSITION OF AN ELLIPTICAL HOLE ON STRESS CONCENTRATION IN A STRETCHED ORTHOTROPIC PLATE

Abstract

The problem considered is the stress around the boundary of an elliptical hole in an orthotropic plate. The plate possesses two perpendicular principal elasticity directions in its plane; one of these directions makes an angle with the major axis of the elliptical hole, and an angle with the direction of the applied tension.
