MODERN CLASSICAL MULTIVARIABLE FEEDBACK CONTROL THEORY. PART 1

Abstract

The report establishes rigorous stability criteria in terms of transfer matrices and in addition undertakes a careful and critical examination of the concepts of complete controllability and observability as applied to the closed loop. In particular it is emphasized that the latter properties are neither necessary nor desirable attributes of a practical multivariable feedback system.
