NORSAR (NORWEGIAN SEISMIC ARRAY). PHASE 1. (OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE)

Abstract

The report covers the operation and maintenance of the NORSAR PHASE 1 seismic system during the period 1 February through 30 November 1968. The report has four chapters: A short introduction states the purpose of the operation of the Phase 1 system and defines the O + M tasks. A rather detailed description of the system is given, covering geographical configurations, constructional and other technical layouts. The third chapter describes the O + M organization and its facilities, and lists the working routines and records. Finally the operational experiences are summed up, partly as a narrative of the operations, partly in the form of graphical statistics.
