INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES: MULTIVARIABLE STUDIES OF PSYCHOLOGICAL PROCESSES RELATED TO INSTRUCTION
Abstract
The role of the instructor in the instructional process is that of a decision-maker. He sets the stage for learning by structuring the learning situation in terms of some specifiable behavior objective(s). The decisions he makes are based on principles involving the classes of variables described in this report. On the basis of these considerations, the research has emphasized the structure and role of cognitive propensities, cognitive stimulation, the structuring of learning tasks, the activities in which students engage as learners, and the interactions between or among these variables. The motivational facets of instruction are represented in the present orientation in the form of 'cognitive stimulation.
