Physical Properties of Remolded Cohesive Soils (ueber die Festigkeitseigenschaften Gestorter Bindiger Boden)

Abstract

The economical design of the portion of a structure located above the ground, with observance of the prescribed factor of safety, is based upon accurate knowledge of the strength properties of the building materials used. The physical properties of the natural types of soil and their behavior at failure must be known for the design of a structure's foundation and evaluation of the factor of safety. Investigations are made for determining the failure conditions with remolded thoroughly mixed soil material, which can be produced in a more homogeneous condition.
