Underwater Sound Transducer Calibration System for the 0.3- to 2000-Hz Frequency Range at Hydrostatic Pressure to 6.89 MPa

Abstract

A controlled-environment system has been constructed to facilitate calibration of a wide variety of underwater sound transducers in the frequency range 0.3-2000 Hz at static pressure to 6.89 MPa (1000 lb/sq in) and temperature from -2 to +40C. The report describes electronic and mechanical features of the system, including active impedance termination, extension of frequency range upward to 2000 Hz, and automatic recording of end-of-cable sensitivity.
