Simulation of a Simple Lorentz Plasma with a Random Distribution of Inductively Loaded Dipoles

Abstract

The feasibility of simulating a simple Lorentz plasma with an artificial dielectric constructed from a random distribution of inductively loaded dipoles is investigated. Both the differences and similarities between the macroscopic electromagnetic properties of the artificial dielectric and Lorentz plasma are discussed.
