Abstract

This document is a case study of the political, economic, sociological, psychological, scientific-technological, and military aspects of Vietnam prior to the outbreak of low intensity conflict and loss of Government control in 1959. It is one of seven substudies of representative nations conducted to determine the factors that lead to low intensity conflict. The years 1945-59 were selected for examination as the preconflict period.
