Improved High-Temperature Solid Film Lubricants. Part II

Abstract

Development of new and improved solid lubricant materials and processes are described. Emphasis is being placed on the formulation and/or evaluation of these materials consistent with their potential use in various lubrication problem areas. Hot-pressed solid lubricant compacts, fabric-lined bearings, solid lubricant technology, lubricant evaluation and accelerated testing, and new applications are evaluated. Composites of polyphenylene sulfide, polybenzimidazole, and polyimide are investigated. S-type glass, carbon, and PBI FABRIC ARE INVESTIGATED AS REINFORCEMENTS. (P.S.-PL)
