Abstract
The MENTOR2 FieldWork team at Otherlab completed the design, production, and installation of three metal-cutting laser cutters. The completed laser cutters are installed at MARMC in Norfolk, Virginia, at SOCOM in Tampa, Florida, and at Otherlab in San Francisco, California.We also completed and delivered two kits and instructional materials to the install sites. The electronics kit uses the Othermill to make circuit boards, and the mechanics kit uses the MENTOR2 laser cutter to make basic machine parts. Both kits are designed as introductions to the machines, and to basic principles of electromechanical design.
