Abstract

As of September 2001, the Department of Defense (DoD) civilian strength totals 657,835. The Department of Defense Civilian Employees Race/Ethnicity/Gender Profile By Pay Plans, makes it initial debut with this publication. The Directorate of Research, Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, prepared this report using information from the Defense Manpower Data Center. All DoD agencies, activities, and organizations with a civilian employee base of more than 500 people are represented in this booklet. Other agencies, activities, and organizations with 500 or less people are not required to submit Affirmative Action Plans based on Equal Employment Opportunity Commission guidelines therefore, are not depicted.
