Passive Space-Debris Trajectories: Description and Uncertainty Propagation for Collision Prediction and Impact-Point Analysis

Abstract

The final report presents the PhD research plan and progress for the first three years of the graduate program. The study investigates the propagation of Earth-orbiting objects to improve predictions, such as conjunction analysis and re-entry predictions. The main focus of the third year was on research related to the GOCE benchmarking re-entry (BMR) predictions. Three articles from refereed journals and published during the project are included in the report.
