Finite Element Approximation of Nonlinear Systems Developing Shocks, Fronts and Interfaces

Abstract

We want to revisit numerical methods for solving nonlinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws such as: 1) Compressible Euler equations 2) Shallow water equations 3) Multi-material fluid flows (Level set method) 4) Advection-dominated multi-phase flows 5) Free-boundary problems.
