Joint Task Force Katrina Photographic Chronology

Abstract

The purpose of this document is to provide the Commander, First Air Force a collection of photographs concerning Joint Task Force-Katrina. Although focused on the widely varying operational activities, these photographs also capture some governmental and disaster relief agencies activities. These photographs capture the aftermath of Katrina. They exhibit the devastation of homes, of businesses, of lives. They witness the unfortunate need for armed soldiers at grocery stores to prevent looting. However They also attest to the strength and determination of the American spirit. They pay tribute to the heroes that arose from the wreckage. To the Airmen, Marines, Sailors, Soldiers. To the rescue and recovery workers. To the countless volunteers. May we remember their courage, sacrifice and hope.
