Command and General Staff College Questionnaires: U.S. Operations in the Republic of Vietnam

Abstract

In preparation for my visit to RVN and in view of my forthcoming assignment to Leavenworth, I asked the College to prepare a series of questions the answers to which would improve the quality of instruction being given to students and, in turn, result in better prepared officers being available for assignment to headquarters and units in Vietnam. These questions are attached herewith. Reports from Vietnam indicate that the army field force headquarters are playing an increasingly active role in the planning and conduct of tactical operations. To correlate College instruction on the corps headquarters versus the army field force headquarters, it is necessary to determine the operational and combat service support responsibilities of army field force headquarters.
