Toward the Second Order Discontinuities of the Simple and Double Layers

Abstract

Simple and double layers are the standard physical models and the keynote mathematical tools. They first appeared in electrostatics and found later various applications in mathematical physics. The discontinuities of these functions and their first derivatives have been under extensive study for about two centuries. In this report, we announce the jump conditions for the second spatial derivatives of those layers.
