Analytically Derived Form Functions for Rolled Ball Propellant Grain Geometry

Abstract

This report documents the derivation of the form functions for a rolled ball geometry. The form functions were derived assuming that the rolled ball grains are uniformly ignited and burn in accordance to Pioberts law. The resulting expressions were validated with use of a practical example and the three dimensional (3D) modeling software, PTC Creo Parametric.
