Next Generation Buried Object Scanning Sonar (BOSS) for Detecting Buried UXO in Shallow Water

Abstract

This paper summarizes the findings of a limited scope study targeted at improving the output products of a class of acoustic subbottom imaging systems generically called BOSS. It makes recommendations on how to enhance and improve existing fielded BOSS systems for improved UXO detection
