The Landing of the British Forces in Gallipoli, 1915

Abstract

The Gallipoli peninsula, once called Hellespont, forms the European bank of the Dardanelles. Opposite it beings Asia Minor. Separating the two continents and taking the shape of a broad and mighty river, the Dardanelles load up into the sea of Marmara, and through the Bosporus, into the Black Sea.
