The Emerging India-Japan Security Relationship

Abstract

This research paper identifies the potential areas for collaboration that India and Japan can leverage to strengthen their security relationship. In the past few years, India has looked to expand its strategic vision. It is now willing to accept a greater role on the world stage and more noticeably in Asia. Tokyo, under Prime Minister Shinzo Abes administration also seems to take slow and steady steps to make few amendments to the Japans pacifist constitution. The Abe administration eased its long-standing ban on Japans arms trade and is looking to take more active role in the security affairs in the Asia Pacific region.
