The Rise of China: The Pursuit of Regional Hegemony and Economic Stability

Abstract

Chinas economy has grown by roughly 10% per year over the last thirty years. Over the last twenty years China has also increased its spending upon its military. This has led to the speculation that China is headed towards an attempt at a global hegemony. However, a review of facts and history shows that China is actually heading towards a regional hegemony.
