Marine Corps Contingency Contracting Theater Support Challenges

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to conduct a capability and capacity study of the Army and Marine Corps Contingency Contracting Forces (CCF). The research looks into the Army's force structure, contracting workforce, and past trends to determine possible future outcomes. Through two case studies and other corresponding information, it was decided that budget cuts and force reductions have genuinely affected the Army's ability to support multiple contingency operations. As such, the Marine Corps must be prepared to overcome its shortfalls and find efficiency in its contracting organizations. Finally, the report offers recommendations to the Marine Corps to minimize the risks and optimize its forces in achieving better effects during contingency operations.
