Results of Continuous Wave (CW) Laser Damage Measurements on Commercially Available Chalcogenide Optics at 1.07 micrometers

Abstract

The continuous wave laser-induced damage threshold of various chalcogenide glasses, made by SCHOTT and Amorphous Materials Inc, are measured for a 5-s irradiance time of 1.07-micrometers light focused to a spot size with 1/sq e diameter of 830 or 1044 micrometers, following standards from the International Organization for Standardization.
