Verification and Validation Report for ATBM-LA v1.0 Finite Element Modeling and Injury Correlation

Abstract

This report documents the completed verification and validation (V and V) activities for the lower abdominal finite element model (FEM) and injury correlations as part of the blunt trauma Modeling and Simulation (M and S) program known as the Advanced Total Body Model (ATBM).The report details the specific requirements, acceptability criteria, and activities performed to validate the models data, conceptual model, and results, as well as verify its data, design, and implementation. The report also summarizes the activities used to identify, evaluate, and quantify any limitations of the M and S as well as any risks associated with its use.
