Intensity Profile of an Ideal Point Source Projected onto a Flat Screen

Abstract

A closed form expression is derived for the case of an ideal point source that emits total power P, projected onto a flat screen at a distance, R, from the source. The intensity as a function of position on the screen is achieved.
