Practical Design of Transmission-Line Networks for Broad-Band Filter Applications

Abstract

This report covers the development of several new types electrical wave filters, employing transmission line elements for use in the Very-High and Ultra-High Frequency bands, where ordinary lumped-constant filters, for various reasons, are inconvenient or difficult to realize. The simple concepts and approaches, however, used in lumped-constant network analysis, have been maintained in these new applications in order to facilitate their understanding and efficient use. Comprehensive data and curves are presented for theoretical analysis, design factors, and constructional procedures, along with comparisons between various predicted and experimental results.
