First Report on the Development of the Infrared Annunciator System

Abstract

In response to the request of the fleet for an equipment which would permit a ship to maintain a watch for signals of near infrared radiation without requiring that a lookout with an image forming receiver be kept on duty all night, the Infrared Annunciator System has been developed at the Naval Research Laboratory.
