Three Dimensional PPI Displays by Stereoscopic Methods

Abstract

Presentation of radar data in the conventional two-dimensional display does not fully utilize all of the information available from the radar equipment. In order to simultaneously employ range, azimuth and altitude data, all of which are readily obtainable, an indicator having three-dimensional presentation has been developed. A brief resume of background theory in stereoscopy, together with an analysis of the binocular problem involved, is also presented herewith.
