Missile Guidance by Jet Impulse

Abstract

The feasibility of guiding a spinning missile by means of the precession produced by sideways explosives impulses, properly timed and directed, is analyzed dynamically in terms of precessional forces, aerodynamic overturning moment and stability. The rate of turn is found to be too slow for target speeds anticipated.
