Overinterrogation and Asynchronous Replies, and Their Relation to Display Limitation and Traffic Handling Capacity in an IFF System

Abstract

Statistical methods are employed in obtaining equations and curves which may be used to calculate the maximum amount of transponder countdown which needs to be tolerated in an electronic identification and recognition system if the system is to operate, say for 99 percent of the time it is in use, without failure due to design limitation.
