Removal and Destruction of PFAS and Co-Occurring Chemicals from Groundwater via Extraction and Treatment with Ion Exchange Media, and On-Site Regeneration, Distillation, and Plasma Destruction

Abstract

This users guide provides standard approaches and performance recommendations for the removal and destruction of per- and poly- fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and co-occurring chemicals from groundwater via extraction and treatment using regenerable ion exchange (IX), onsite recovery (distillation), and low-energy plasma destruction. This users guide is prepared as an element of the technology transfer program associated with ESTCP project ER18-5015, awarded to Wood Environment and Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. (Wood) in 2019. Effective September 21, 2022, Wood Environment and Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. was acquired by WSP Global Inc. (WSP). Due to the acquisition, the company name has changed to WSP USA Environment and Infrastructure Inc. No other aspects of legal entity or capabilities have changed for this users guide.
