Fluerics 37: A General Planar Nozzle Discharge Coefficient Representation

Abstract

This report presents an improved theory for the calculation of incompressible, laminar-flow, nozzle discharge coefficients in planar nozzles. The theory includes the effects of: acceleration of the free stream in a constant area section due to boundary layer growth; three dimensionality, due to corner boundary layer interaction; and, fully developed flow at very low Reynolds numbers due to opposing boundary layer interaction.
