Edge Gradient Resolution Measurements Using Special Microscope.

Abstract

Field evaluations of imagery can be performed simply, quickly, and with results accurate to three elements when compared to three bar targets results. These results occur when targets with resolution less than 100 line pairs per millimeter are examined. The method employed is edge gradient measurements using a special microscope manufactured by Gaertner Scientific Corp. Easier measurements could be made if the target comparison reticle were redesigned. (Author)
