Low-Aspect-Ratio Wing in a Bounded Inviscid Flow (Krylo Malogo Udlineniya v Ogranichennom Potoke Nevyazkoy Zhidkosti),

Abstract

The aerodynamic characteristics of a thin planar wing moving near a solid or free surface (hydrofoil) are determined. Use is made of the thin body theory, whereby the three-dimensional flow past a thin body elongated in the direction of motion is approximately replaced by two-dimensional flow in transverse planes. In the case under consideration, the problem is reduced to the study of the motion of a flat plate near an interface. (Author)
