Studies of Transverse Liquid Fuel Jets in High-Speed Air Streams

Abstract

This report is in two parts describing two related studies of liquid fuel jet injection. The first study was concerned with the flowfield in the immediate vicinity of the injection port for the case of a hot, supersonic main air stream. Water, kerosene and carbon disulphide were studied as the injectants. The second study dealt with the details of penetration and break-up of liquid jets in high subsonic speed air streams. (Author)
