Alerting in Database Systems: Concepts and Techniques.

Abstract

This paper discusses the subject of alerters, which can be used in a database management system to provide the same capability of informing a user when a specified state of the world (as reflected in the database) is reached. This paper describes recent research in adding alerting features to database management systems and provides a framework within which this research can be evaluated.
