Simulator Fields and Ground Constants.

Abstract

The consistency of field measurements and the determination of ground constants is examined for electromagnetic pulse (EMP) simulators. The agreement between the horizontal electric field and the radial magnetic field is quite good for reasonable values of the ground constants. More refined measurements of the fields can lead to a more precise determination of the conductivity and dielectric constant of the ground and even to show the frequency dependence of these parameters.
