Extended Kalman Filtering Applied to the Position Locating and Reporting System (PLRS).
Abstract
The Marine Corps and Army are developing a Position Locating Reporting System to aid the battlefield commander in locating his assets during battle. This study has applied Extended Kalman Filtering techniques to that problem, evolving from a simple Extended Kalman Filter Observer to three moving observers, whose position is uncertain, estimating the position of another unit.
