Information Processing for Oil and Gas Exploration. Volume 3. A Time-Domain Approach to Seismogram Synthesis for Layered Media.

Abstract

This paper obtains time-domain equations - state space equations - for a model of a horizontally stratified nonabsorbtive earth with vertically traveling plane compressional waves. It develops a complete model which generates primaries and all multiples; a primaries model which generates just the primary reflection components of a seismogram; and a secondaries model which generates just the secondary reflection components of a seismogram.
