Asymptotic Conical Dipole D-Dot Sensor (ACD-S1(R)) Development

Abstract

This report describes the development of a small, D-dot sensor. The sensor shape is determined from the field distributions around a postulated line charge protruding from and normal to a conducting surface. It produces a voltage output in response to a time variant E-field. The theory of operation, modeling experiments, design and construction, prototype testing and test results are discussed within.
