Revised Model of the Peripheral Auditory System Through Primary Auditory Nerve.

Abstract

A model of the auditory system from the middle ear through primary auditory nerve has been developed. The components of the model are an electronic analog device that generates the middle ear and cochlear transfer functions and two sets of FORTRAN routines that realize the absolute magnitude transformation of the entire peripheral auditory system and the primary auditory nerve transformation. The parameter values for the electronic analog device are set in the hardware and were developed from the literature. Procedures were developed to obtain the parameter values for the other two components from the available neurophysiological data of the neuron being modeled.
