A Noise Survey of the Cormorant, Proposed FDSS.

Abstract

A noise survey was conducted on board the CORMORANT, proposed FDSS (Formerly the ASPA QUARTO), in her original trawler configuration to determine if noise would be a habitability, health or operational problem after the FDSS refit. It was found that in sleeping quarters adjoining the main machinery spaces, noise will probably cause sleep and rest disturbance unless adequate noise reduction measures are implemented, and that a hearing hazard exists for persons occupying the main machinery spaces on a routine basis. In addition, the proposed communications/control complex will require considerable quieting of the Diesel Generator Room exhaust blowers. (Author)
