Study Requirements for an Integrated Air/Ground Communications Facility.
Abstract
The structure, performance, maintenance, and versatility of FAA Air/Ground Communication facilities are evaluated, using a system approach to analyze requirements and costs. Guidelines have been developed by this study for effectively defining Air/Ground facilities to support present and future operations of the National Airspace System. As a primary example, an integrated OAKLAND ARTCC model is designed which consolidates its associated communication facilities, and is responsive to its operational and maintenance requirements.
