Abstract

This is the final report of a project concerned with the general topic of adsorption at the liquid-solid interface. Publications resulting from the work are: (1) The Fundamental Infrared Spectrum of the Ammonium Ion in Aqueous Solution. (2) Infrared Study of Adsorption in situ at the Liquid/Solid Interface. IV. The Utility of Internal Reflection Techniques. (3) Infrared Study of Adsorption in situ at the Liquid/Solid Interface. V. Adsorption of Octadecanol, Octadecylamine, and Octadecanedioic Acid on Silica, and a Criterion of Considering Competitive Adsorption. (4) Infrared Spectra of Water in Aqueous Solutions Using Internal Reflection Spectroscopy. (5) Quantitative Analysis of Aqueous Nitrite/Nitrate Solution by Infrared Internal Reflectance Spectrometry. (6) Infrared Internal Reflection Spectra of Methanol-Water Mixtures.
